RESULTS | ADRIAN, Mich. –The Indiana Tech women’s golf team currently leads the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference after the first WHAC Jamboree as the Warriors finished the event with a 340, two strokes better than Madonna.
Wiebke Schlender, one of three Warrior freshmen, paced Tech with a nine-over 80 and tied for first with Lourdes’ Brooke Darah. Another freshman, Tamina Römer, recorded her third top-10 finish in four starts, carding an 84 to finish fifth. Rachel George also finished in the top-10, her first of the season, tying for 10th with an 87.
Courtney Dye, the third Warrior freshman, shot 89 and finished tied for 14th while Tina Mettert tied for 18th with a 90 and Haley Larson finished with a 94, tied for 33rd.
Tech leads the WHAC after the first of four Jamborees to be played throughout the year, while Madonna is second. Siena Heights carded a 354 to finish third while Aquinas (356) and Lourdes (357) round out the top five.
The Warriors return to the course on Saturday, Sept. 28 when they take part in WHAC Jamboree #2 at Scott Lake Country Club in Comstock Park, Mich.
