RESULTS | COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. –The Indiana Tech women’s golf team won its second WHAC Jamboree of the season, once again besting Madonna, carding a 318, five shots better than the Crusaders.
Winning her fourth event in five tries, including three in a row, was Paderborn, Germany native Wiebke Schlender who turned in a four-over 75, besting teammate and fellow freshman, a Traverse City, Mich. native, Courtney Dye who finished one shot off the lead with a 76. Also finishing in the top-five, just four strokes back was the third freshman, Tamina Römer.
Rachel George carded an 88 and tied for 21st while Haley Larson and Tina Mettert tied with a pair of 91’s.
The Warriors now hold an eight shot lead over the Crusaders in the WHAC standings with their five shot win. Siena Heights finished third at Scott Lake Country Club with a 335, while Aquinas (337) and Lourdes (347) rounded out the top five.
The Warriors will look to win the third of four Jamborees when they return to the course on Monday, Sept. 30 in Grandville, Mich. at the Sunnybrook Golf Course. The third Jamboree is to be hosted by Cornerstone and the teams will tee off at 11 a.m.
