FORT WAYNE, Ind. –The Indiana Tech women’s golf team leads yet another tournament after the first round of play at the University of St. Francis Fall Invite played at the Brookwood Country Club on Friday.
Tech carded a first round 309 led by a one-over 73 from Courtney Dye who seeks her first win of the season. Wiebke Schlender carded a 76 while Tamina Römer shot a 78. Tina Mettert turned in an 82 while Rachel George rounded out the scoring with an 86.
Haley Larson, competing as an individual, shot a career-best 79 for the Warriors.
Tech currently leads the event by four strokes over familiar foe Siena Heights who shot 313. Olivet Nazarene is currently in third after a first round 315 while Aquinas one stroke back at 316. The host Cougars round out the top five with a 334.
The Warriors will conclude play at the USF Fall Invitational tomorrow morning at 8 a.m.
