RESULTS | FORT WAYNE, Ind. –The Indiana Tech women’s golf team won their fourth consecutive tournament, fifth overall, after tying the school-record with a final round of 308, which also sets a school-record for 36 holes with a 617 (309-308). The final round of the University of St. Francis Fall Invitational was played at the Brookwood Country Club on Saturday.
The Warriors were led by co-winners, Wiebke Schlender and Courtney Dye. Dye, the first round leader, carded a second round 77 for a 36-hole total of 150 (73-77), while Schlender moved up the leaderboard with a final round 74, two shots better than her first round 76. Tamina Römer also finished in the top-five with a fourth place finish, carding a final round 77 for 155 (78-77).
Tina Mettert carded an 84 to finish with a 166 (82-84) while Rachel George had a career-best round today with an 80, giving her a 166 (80-86) as well.
Haley Larson, playing as an individual for the Warriors, finished with a 36-hole total of 169 (79-90).
Tech won the event by 24 strokes over Olivet Nazarene and Aquinas who tied with a 641, while Siena Heights finishing fourth, another two strokes back.
The Warriors return to the course on Friday, Oct. 11 with the first round of WHAC Jamboree No. 4 which will be held at Sylvania Country Club in Sylvania, Mich.
