Schlender Leads, Women's Golf Second at Beyond the Roar Invite

RESULTS | LAKE WALES, Fla. – Led by an even-par 72 from first round leader, Wiebke Schlender, the Indiana Tech women’s golf team is currently second after 18-holes of play at the Beyond the Roar Invitational at Lake Wales Country Club on Saturday.

Schlender is the current leader after a front-nine 32, four-under par. Courtney Dye and Tamina Römer also finished in the top-10 with Dye finishing tied for fourth after carding a 78 while Römer finished two strokes back in sixth with a first round 80.

Rachel George shot an 89 to place 21st while Tina Mettert carded a 91 for the Warriors. Haley Larson competed as an individual at the event, carding an opening round 97.

Seventh-ranked Northwood University currently leads the event by two strokes with a 317, placing four athletes in the top-10 while Tech is in second with a 319. Southeastern is in third with a 339 while Webber International (350) and Thomas (351) round out the top five.

The teams will conclude play tomorrow, Nov. 3 with teams scheduled to tee-off at 8 a.m.
