Fort Wayne, IN – The Warriors knocked off the Albion College Britons on Tuesday night, 19-13, in the Warriors home opener.
The Warriors got the scoring started early with a goal from Alanna Szypura (Warrenville, IL/Wheaton-Warrenville South HS) to take a 1-0 lead. After the Britons gained a 6-4 edge mid-way through the first half, Tech’s Nicole Johnson (Osceola, IN/Penn HS) went off and scored six goals as part of a Warrior 9-0 run to take control of the game.
Johnson led the way for the Warriors with six goals, an assist, and seven groundballs. Chelsea Olson (Canton, MI/Canton HS) also added four goals and an assist. Paige Kauffman (Indianapolis, IN/Lawrence Central HS) and Holly Holod (Chicago, IL/Lane Tech HS) chipped in three goals apiece and Erin Skodi (Naperville, IL/Naperville Central HS) and Szypura rounded out the scoring. Stephanie Seese (Granger, IN/Penn HS) was solid between the pipes recording 18 saves.
The Warriors are back in action Wednesday, March 24, as they travel to Notre Dame College. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
