Grand Rapids, Mich. – First year women’s lacrosse head coach Emily Shreeve got her coaching career started off on the right foot, leading her Warriors to a perfect 4-0 record during their fall ball games on Saturday, Oct. 6.
Tech posted victories over the University of Michigan 12-3, Albion College 11-4, Central Michigan University 14-1, and Michigan State University 10-2.
Even though they were just exhibition games, Shreeve and the Warriors showed that the team hasn’t missed a beat since going 14-5 and winning an NWLL Championship a season ago.
“Our defense played great and had phenomenal communication,” said Shreeve. “Our transitions were very clean and we were able to move the ball down the field quickly, and our offense was well executed with every player being a threat.”
Senior goalkeeper Ashley Elvey (Holland, OH/St. Ursula) was also outstanding between the pipes, allowing just one goal in three halves of play.
The Warriors will open the regular season on Mar. 7 in Chicago, Illinois against Robert Morris University.
