Grand Rapids, Mich. – Despite falling behind early to Aquinas College on Saturday in WHAC action, the Indiana Tech women’s soccer never panicked and rallied for three unanswered goals to defeat the Saints 3-1, extending their winning streak to five.
Indiana Tech is now 10-2 overall and 2-0 in the conference while Aquinas slipped to 4-6 and 0-1 in the WHAC.
The Warriors found themselves down right away after surrendering a goal to Aquinas’ Allison VanPatten just 2:15 into the contest.
However, junior Alex Field (Gilberts, IL/Hampshire) scored the equalizer in the 20th minute and classmate Jess Stanton (East Lansing, MI/East Lansing) put Tech ahead for good with her third goal of the year at the 37:17 mark.
Junior goalkeeper Jordan Roell (Guilford, IN/East Central) had a terrific game making 10 saves and freshman Tori Singstock (Southgate, MI/Southgate Anderson) added her conference-best ninth goal of the season.
Up next, the Warriors will host Cornerstone University on Wednesday, Oct. 3 in a rematch of last year’s WHAC Quarterfinal matchup where Tech prevailed over the Golden Eagles 1-0.
