RESULTS | ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. –The Indiana Tech women’s soccer team recorded their third shutout of the season with a 2-0 victory over Rochester College on Saturday at the Ultimate Soccer Arena.
The Indiana Tech Warriors (4-1-1) dominated the game including an eight shot to one advantage in the first half over the Rochester Warriors (0-8). Tech also dominated shots on frame sending eight towards the goal while Rochester’s only shot was on goal. It was closer in corner kicks as the Orange and Black held a narrow 3-2 advantage.
The Tech Warriors didn’t let up in the second half getting off 12 shots in the period with ten on frame, including the only scores of the game. It took awhile but when Tech finally got on the board in the 84th minute on a goal from Darby Mccraken, her first of the season and one of her two shots in the game. The second goal came just 17 seconds later off the foot of Jess Stanton as she was assisted by Megan Perrey. The goal was Staton’s goal and Perrey’s assists were each their firsts of the season.
For the game, Tech tallied 20 shots with 16 on goal while Rochester mustered just five shots, while all five were on frame.
The Warriors will return to the pitch on Monday, Sept. 16 when they host cross-town rival St. Francis (Ind.) for the Fort Wayne Cup, which Tech won back from the Cougars last season.
