RESULTS | GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. –The Indiana Tech women’s soccer team suffered its worst loss of the season on Wednesday night, falling 6-0 to Cornerstone in Grand Rapids. The Warriors fall to 5-5-1 overall and 0-2 in WHAC play while the Golden Eagles improve to 6-3 on the season and 2-0 in conference play.
The Golden Eagles dominated every facet of the game as they outshot the Warriors 20-8 including a 12-3 margin in shots on goal. Cornerstone attempted nine corner kicks to just one for Tech, while Megan Lamb made three saves for CU and Jordan Roell and Bre Wojnarowski each tallied three saves for Tech.
The two teams seemed even in the first half as the Golden Eagles held an 11-7 edge in shots, however, five of the 11 found the net in the first period. Lexie Brisson-Fast led the charge for Cornerstone with a hat trick in a span of 10 minutes of the first period scoring at 15:31, 19:18 and 25:46 to extend the lead to 4-0.
In the second half, the Golden Eagles played shut down defense, allowing just one Warriors shot while they themselves tallied nine shots and sent four on frame.
The Warriors will look to capture their first conference win when they return to the pitch on Friday, Oct. 4, as they travel to Adrian, Mich. to face Siena Heights.
