FORT WAYNE, IN- During this special season, the Indiana Tech Women’s Soccer Team decided it is better to give than receive. Several members of the team are in the education program at Indiana Tech and two team mates are in Ms. Segovia’s Kindergarten class at Washington Elementary as part of their field experience.
Ms. Segovia had approached sophomore Christina Parrot (Fredericksburg, OH / Waynedale) and freshman Brittany Parrett (Indianapolis, IN / Ben Davis) and asked them if they would be interested in purchasing some gifts for the class to help them have a better Christmas. The players contacted Warrior Head Coach Jim Lipocky and soon the entire team was helping to raise funds for this project.
The team purchased blankets, coloring books, reading books, flash cards, stuffed animals and other items for the children. “I’m very proud of the team and the effort they put into helping these children,” said Coach Lipocky.
