3/15/09 - The Indiana Tech Softball team won their first two games of the NTC Tournament in Clermont, FL.  In the first game, the Warriors defeated Bates College (ME) 18-1 behind the hitting of junior Justine Brandt (Toledo, OH / Cardinal Stritch )  and freshman Chia Lopez (Valley Center, CA/ Valley Center) and the pitching of junior Jessica Williams (Seattle, WA / Meadowdale).  Brandt went 4-4 with 3 runs, 3 RBI’s and a stolen base.  Lopez went 3-4 with 2 runs, 4 RBI’s, and 2 doubles.  Williams went the distance scattering 2 hits and striking out 4.  In the second game, the Warriors were led by the sophomore pitcher Brittany Bingham (Woodbridge, VA / CD Hylton SR) who allowed 4 hits and struck out a season high nine batters in a 2-0 victory over Medaille College (NY).  The Medaille win is Coach Becky Norris’ 100^th career victory.  Congratulations Coach Norris on your landmark victory!
