Fort Wayne, Ind. – The Indiana Tech softball program hosted its annual alumni game on Saturday, Sept. 15 at Memorial Park where the current Warrior team defeated the alumni squad 8-4 in what Head Coach Becky Norris called the “best alumni game yet!”
Highlighting the game was Megan Groce ('12) blasting a homerun, just as she did so many times during her outstanding career with the Warriors.
The alumni team featured many former Tech greats, including Heather Anderson (’03), Lindsey Dingle (’03), Candy Couch (’06), Allie Glover (‘09), Jessica Williams (’10), Brittany Bingham (‘11), Keena Knaggs (‘11), and Samantha Simpson (‘11).
Representing the most recent graduating class (2012) were Callie Busch, Casey Prince, Amber Edmundson, and Andrea Sexsmith, as well as Groce.
Many other alumnae also came out to show their support as fans, and to cheer on their team. Following the game, family and friends joined in a cookout social that was put on by the current junior class.
The Warriors will open their 2013 season at the Martin Methodist Tournament in Pulaski, Tennessee on Feb. 15.
