3/31/09 – The Indiana Tech Softball team defeated the Siena Heights Saints 6-2 in the first game of the doubleheader. Unfortunately, the second game was halted in the top of the third inning due to rain. The Warriors jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead in the first two innings of the game thanks to the timely hitting of senior Mallory Harris (Greenville, IN / Greenville Central), junior Jessica Williams (Seattle, WA / Meadowdale), and freshman Megan Groce (Milford, MI / Milford). Williams hit two home runs and Groce hit her second of the year. Both players combined accounted for the six RBI’s. Harris went 4-4 with 2 runs and 2 doubles. Williams got the win on the mound as she went the distance allowing five hits, one earned run, striking out six, and improving her record to 5-3. The second game will be made up when the team travels to Siena Heights on Saturday, April 25th. Their next scheduled game is Wednesday, April 1st at 4:00pm at Memorial Park in Fort Wayne, IN.
