4/11/09 – The Indiana Tech Softball hosted the Concordia Cardinals on Saturday, April 11^th and the Warriors were able to sweep the Cardinals 11-0 and 10-4.  In the first game, junior pitcher Jessica Williams (Seattle, WA / Meadowdale) dominated the Cardinals and allowed only a bunt single the entire game.  Williams struck out nine and walked none in a performance that nearly mirrored her perfect game against Concordia last year.  Senior April Alexander (Tukwila, WA / Franklin) recorded 4 RBI’s and junior Justine Brandt (Toledo, OH / Cardinal Stritch) went 2-4 with 2 runs.  In the second game, sophomore pitcher Samantha Simpson (Albion, MI / Albion) went the distance for her second win of the season, scattering six hits and striking out five.  Alexander had another big game going 3-4 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI’s.  In addition, freshman Megan Groce (Milford, MI / Milford) went 2-3 with 3 runs and 2 RBI’s and senior Brittany Miller (Spencerville, IN / Leo) went 2-4 with a run and a RBI.  The Warriors will return to action on April 14^th and 15^th when they travel to Grand Rapids, MI to play Aquinas and Davenport in a pair of doubleheaders.
