Softball Team Starts CBU Tournament
The softball team played their first two games of the California Baptist University Tournament in Riverside, CA, on Thursday afternoon. While the results were not to their liking, the squad is gaining valuable experience against some of the best teams in the nation.
The first game pitted the Warriors against the nationally ranked California Baptist Lancers (#3). The starting pitcher for the Warriors, sophomore Dani Campbell (South Bend, IN / James W Riley), fell victim to unearned runs, and Lancer pitchers Melanie Ahumada and Emma Holden combined to no-hit the Warriors for a 10-0 victory.
In the second game, the Warriors battled the Southern Oregon Raiders and dropped a 9-1 decision. Junior Jessica Williams (Seattle, WA / Meadowdale) pitched 6 innings, 5 earned runs, and 2 strikeouts.  Senior Brittany Miller (Spencerville, IN / Leo) collected a hit and a RBI for her efforts.
On Friday, February 6, Tech will play Belhaven College (MS) at noon and a second game against California Baptist at 4 p.m. (EST).
