Fort Wayne, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women’s tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to the visiting Trine University Thunder on Monday night at Swinney Park.

The loss dropped the Warriors to 1-2 on the season while Trine moved to 1-0.

Tech earned the wins at the number one doubles and at the number two singles positions.

Sophomore Stephanie Perez (Queretaro, Mexico) was the winner in both matches for the Warriors. Perez moved to 2-0 on the year in singles play by defeating Trine’s Chrissy Uphaus 6-2, 6-1.

Perez and freshman Ana Hernandez (Naucalpan, Mexico) won at doubles over the TU pair of Jessica Huhnke and Uphaus 8-3.

The Warriors are off until Oct. 9 when they welcome Tiffin University to Fort Wayne for a 4 p.m. match.
