Warriors Drop 7-2 Decision at Trine

Angola, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women’s tennis team visited Trine University on Sunday trying to avenge a loss back in the fall, but the Thunder handed the Lady Warriors their first loss of the spring season 7-2.

Tech dropped to 2-3 on the year while Trine improved to 3-2.

In singles competition, newcomer Mounia Sami picked up the lone win for the Warriors. Sami defeated TU’s Chrissy Uphaus 6-0, 6-2 at the No. 2 position.

Sami, and her partner Stephanie Perez, scored Tech’s only win in doubles play as well, winning 8-5 at No.1 doubles.

The Warriors return to the courts when they host University of Saint Francis (Ind.) at Wildwood Racquet Club on Mar. 1 beginning at 2 p.m.
