Fort Wayne, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women’s tennis team dropped a conference match to the University of Northwestern Ohio on Wednesday night 7-2 at Wildwood Racquet Club.
Tech’s record dips to 3-7 overall and 0-2 in the WHAC with the loss while the Racers improved to 5-6-1 and 1-1 in league play.
Sophomore Stephanie Perez earned the only point for the Warriors in singles competition, winning 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 3 position.
Perez and Barbara Belli de Oliveira picked up a 9-7 win at No. 2 doubles. The duo of Ashley Benvenuti and Kayla Morrell almost secured another point at No. 3, but were edged out 8-6.
Indiana Tech will travel to Mishawaka, Indiana on Saturday, Apr. 6 for a non-conference match with Bethel College beginning at 12:30 p.m.
