RESULTS | GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. –The Indiana Tech women’s tennis team saw mixed results on the second day of the USTA/ITA Midwest Regional at Orchard Hills Swim and Sports Club in Grand Rapids, Mich. on Friday.
The Warriors Stephanie Perez, the 16th seed, fell to Kateryna Bondarenko of Northwestern Ohio in the round of 16 in the singles main draw, 7-5, 6-3. In the consolation draw, Ana Hernandez has made her way to the semifinals after defeating Kunnen from Concordia 6-2, 6-0 and Marian’s Paras 7-6 (6), 6-2 and Heininger of Indiana Wesleyan 6-3, 6-1. She will square off against top seeded Katie Wilson of IWU in the semifinals.
In doubles Barbara Oliveira and Perez lost to Lutt and Koo of Davenport 8-4 while Hernandez and Raquel Manzoni fell to Futrell and Bottorf of IWU 8-2. Oliviera also lost in singles play losing to Marquez of UNOH, 6-0, 6-2.
Play will conclude tomorrow at the Orchard Hills Swim and Sports Club beginning at 9 a.m.
