Highlighting the schedule will be four teams that finished the 2010-11 season ranked in the Top-6 of the NAIA Wrestling Coaches’ Top 20 Poll, Grand View University, Lindenwood, Missouri Valley, and Campbellsville. Grand View finished fifth at the 2011 NAIA Wrestling National Championship and had seven All-Americans. Lindenwood ended the season with nine All-Americans and placed 2nd at the National Championship while Missouri Valley and Campbellsville finished the year with five All-Americans apiece.
The Warriors will head to the Lindenwood University Open early in the year on November 19 before traveling to the Patriot Duals in Williamsburg, Kentucky for a showdown with the University of the Cumberlands and Campbellsville University.
Later in the year, Tech will head to the Missouri Valley Invitational and the Grand View University Open in back-to-back weeks on January 21 and 28 before the Campbellsville Duals on February 4.
The Warriors will also take on several NCAA Division I opponents, participating in the Eastern Michigan University Open on November 5, the Michigan State University Open on November 12, and the EMU Duals on January 15.
“We feel we have put together a schedule that will challenge us to perform at our best every time we step on the mat,” Indiana Tech Head Coach Mike Ester said. “We are also very fortunate that we have the resources to be able to travel all our guys to opens as well as split our squad a couple times to enable us to get all our guys competing at the appropriate level to match their abilities. We are looking forward to competing next year and feel that by the end of the season we will be battle tested enough to make a run at putting All-Americans on the podium.”
