Fort Wayne, IN – The Indiana Tech wrestling team continues to be involved in the Fort Wayne community, having the opportunity to volunteer at the 13th Annual DASANI Buddy Walk on Saturday, October 1 at Foster Park.
“We were honored to have the opportunity to serve the Down Syndrome Association of Northeast Indiana folks at the annual Buddy Walk,” said Head Coach Mike Ester. “Our guys worked hard setting up the event, working different activity stations, and assisting serving food and stayed until the last table was loaded on the truck and returned. I was proud of their efforts and generosity to serve our community!”
The director of the event, Eri Niska, added “Coach Ester, big thank you again to you and your men. I cannot say enough about how our people appreciated your work and the interactions your wrestlers had with our DASANI kids. They were very wonderful young men!”
The next Buddy Walk will be at Shaoff Park on October 6, 2012, please mark your calendar!
The Buddy Walk was established in 1995 by the National Down Syndrome Society to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October and to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome.
