Fort Wayne, IN – The Indiana Tech wrestling team held its position at No. 20 in the third edition of the 2011-12 NAIA Wrestling Coaches’ Top 20 Poll announced by the national office on Wednesday.
The Warriors also had a pair of freshmen grapplers climb the NAIA Wrestling Top 12 Individual rankings with Travis Barroquillo (Wolcottville, IN/Prairie Heights) and Tanner Martin (Ft. Wayne, IN/Snider) both moving up one spot.
Barroquillo is the 5th-ranked grappler at 133-pounds after a 5-1 record over the last two weeks. He went 1-0 at the Patriot Duals and produced a 4-1 record on his way to a third place finish at the Midwest Classic.
At 174-pounds, Martin moved up to the No. 11 spot after earning a 5-2 record in his last two meets. He also went 1-0 at the Patriot Duals and went 4-2 at the Midwest Classic to finish in fifth place.
The Warriors are off the until the new year when they return to the mat on January 7 in Painesville, Ohio for the Storm Open hosted by Lake Erie College.
