For Immediate Release
Fort Wayne, Ind. – The Indiana Tech wrestling team is proud to announce the signing of Logan Rimmer from Bedford High School in Temperance, Michigan.
“We are extremely excited to have Logan in our program,” said Indiana Tech Head Coach Mike Ester! “We feel he has the potential to make an immediate impact in our lineup and also feel he has the potential to contend to be an All-American his first year with us. He has great size (6’6” 280-lbs), has been well coached, he’s athletic, and has great work ethic. Logan’s father and uncle paved the path for wrestling success in his family as they were All-State wrestlers respectively when they attended Bedford High School and are very supportive of his quest for success at the collegiate level.”
Logan was a state runner-up his junior and senior year, earning him a spot as the #22 overall senior prospect out of the state of Michigan (recognized by Michigangrappler.com: http://www.michigangrappler.com/files/High_School/HS11-12/Recruits_TopSeniors.html). He competed in the NHSCA Senior Nationals in Virginia Beach this year and placed fourth in the nation, earning High School All-American status.
“We have an extremely strong class coming in for next year, in which we put a tremendous focus on strengthening the back end of our lineup (197-HWT),” Coach Ester added. “Logan will be pushed by a corps of four other heavyweights expected to be in our room next fall, who all have successful state and national level credentials.”
Logan chose Indiana Tech because of the smaller class sizes, the newer campus, and a wrestling program that is relatively new, and emerging as a program that will compete to be in the hunt for national championships on a perennial basis. Logan looks forward to being a part of and helping to build this winning tradition for the Warriors.
He will major in Business Administration, with plans of attending law school after his undergraduate work, hopefully at Tech’s new law school opening in 2013.
