Fort Wayne, Ind. – The 9th ranked Indiana Tech wrestling team hosted NCAA DII Tiffin University on Tuesday night in the Warrior Athletic Center in the first dual meet of the season for the Warriors.
Tech held a 14-8 lead after the first five matches, but Tiffin won the next five matches to claim the 29-14 victory.
The loss dropped the Warriors to 0-1 on the year while the Dragons improved their record to 4-3.
Tiffin went up 3-0 following the first match of the night, but back-to-back major decision victories by Sidney Logan (Mishawaka, IN/Mishawaka) and 11th ranked James Bennett (Bowden, GA/Darton) gave the Warriors an 8-3 edge.
The Dragons tied the score after a technical fall win, but a forfeit at 174-lbs put Tech ahead 14-8 at the midway point.
From that point, the visitors would win the next five bouts, two by pin, on their way to the 29-14 win.
The Warriors return to action on Nov. 30 at the Battle of the Rockies Duals hosted by the University of Great Falls in Great Falls, Montana. Tech will then compete in the Battle of the Rockies Open the following day.
