Fort Wayne, Ind. – The Indiana Tech wrestling team checked in at No. 15 in the second regular season edition of the NAIA Wrestling Coaches’ Top 20 Poll, announced by the national office on Wednesday.
The Warriors also had five wrestlers ranked in the NAIA Wrestling Top 16 Individuals, including Travis Barroquillo (Wolcottville, IN/Prairie Heights), James Bennett (Bowden, GA/Darton), Tanner Martin (Ft. Wayne, IN/Snider), Dustin Boyd (Mishawaka, IN/Calumet), and Logan Rimmer (Temperance, MI/Bedford).
Barroquillo lost his hold on the No. 1 spot at 133-lbs and fell to No. 5 while Bennett jumped six spots up to No. 10 at 157-lbs following a great start to the season. Coming off a tournament championship at the Battle of the Rockies Open, Martin also climbed up the rankings, moving up to No. 2 at 174-lbs.
At 197-lbs, Boyd maintained his position at No. 15 and after a fourth place finish at the Battle of the Rockies Open, freshman Logan Rimmer gained one place moving up to No. 14 at 285-lbs.
The battle tested Warriors will face another challenging slate this weekend as they welcome four teams either ranked or receiving votes to Fort Wayne for the first annual Warrior Duals on Saturday, Dec. 8.
Action begins at 10 a.m. in the Warrior Athletic Center against No. 13 Missouri Baptist University. Later in the day, the Warriors will square off against Hannibal-LaGrange University, No. 12 University of the Cumberlands, and No. 5 Campbellsville University.
