Fort Wayne, Ind. – Head Coach Mike Ester landed another talented student-athlete when Sam Harris, from Urbana, Ohio, signed his letter of intent to wrestle with the Indiana Tech Warriors.
"Sam fits the mold of the type of guy we want to represent this program,” said Coach Ester. “He is a phenomenal student and is a tremendous leader. Sam has the potential to make an immediate impact on the mat for us and is projected to wrestle 197-lbs for us."
During his impressive career at Urbana High School, Harris was a district qualifier at 160-lbs as a freshman and a state alternate at 189-lbs as a sophomore. He surpassed the 100 win mark in his junior season and finished in fourth place in the Ohio State Tournament. Now in the middle of his senior campaign, Harris is working hard to make a push to become the state champion.
Harris, on why he chose Tech, said, “I think Indiana Tech will help me pursue my goal of becoming a multiple-time NAIA All-American, and I'm very excited to help in the development of this up and coming team.”
