Des Moines, Iowa – The 2013 NAIA Wrestling National Championships open action Friday at 10 a.m. CST at the Jacobson Exhibition Center at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines, Iowa. The 56th annual event is a two-day competition that features four sessions of action with the championship matches scheduled to start at 7 p.m. CST on Saturday.
The state of Iowa welcomes 210 qualifiers representing 37 programs from across the United States, including 33 returning 2012 All-Americans.
Among the returning All-Americans are Indiana Tech sophomores Travis Barroquillo (133) and Tanner Martin (174). Joining them from the 14th ranked Warriors will be Kris McKinley (125), Sidney Logan (149), Adam Fahs (157), James Bennett (165), Darryl Grayson (174) and Logan Rimmer (285).
Barroquillo, Bennett, and Martin will enter the event ranked in the NAIA Wrestling Top 16 Individuals in their respective weight classes. Barroquillo is No. 4 while Bennett and Martin come in holding the No. 5 spot.
Indiana Tech will look to improve on its 16th place finish a year ago, as well as crown its first national champion.
