Band Fundraiser Huge Success

FORT WAYNE, IN -- On Sunday, September 13, the Indiana Tech Warrior Band held a fundraiser on campus selling Nelson's Chicken.

Indiana Tech band members serve Nelson's chicken
The band invited the Nick Bobay Quartet and The East Central Orchestra to hold a free concert on campus to show their gratitude to patrons of the fundraiser. As the fundraiser concluded the Warrior Band members realized they had a substantial amount of food remaining. Instead of taking that food home with them, students drove to several area fire stations and even the rescue mission to distribute the remaining food.
Band Director Marcus Farr stated "I was very impressed with the students idea and fully encouraged them in their endeavor. It to date is one of my proudest moments with my students here at Tech. It makes me realize what a great bunch of students I get to work with." Farr also stated that he looks forward to having the group participate in more community service events through out the season.
