Get to know Coach Neuhoff

Coach Neuhoff is in his 12th season as the head coach of the Men's Soccer program here at Indiana Tech. Over the past seasons he has redirected the men's program and started up the Women's Soccer program. He is a nationally B-licensed coach who, prior to coming to Indiana Tech, was the full-time director of Soccer Academy, Inc. out of Michigan. In the summer he ran soccer camps with approx. 300 campers in attendance. He did consulting and training clinics for coaches and players alike and coached different levels of club teams.

His experience includes starting or helping to start several successful high school soccer programs. The last one was the men's and women's soccer programs at Saline High School in Michigan. Coach Neuhoff has actively coached since 1982.

He attended Christian Brothers College and Pretoria College. With a background in marketing, Coach Neuhoff was a Senior Merchandise Manager and later a Human Resources Director with J.C. Penney. Alongside his wife, Chris, they started and sold a flourishing $2 million dollar business in 1996. Coach Neuhoff's experience on and off the field helps all his recruits reach their full potential as a student athlete both on and off the field.

Coach Martin Neuhoff has always driven the soccer program to provide players with opportunities for academic and sporting excellence. He expects commitment in the classroom and on the playing field. He encourages his players to make consistent personal effort, dedication and accountability a priority. Neuhoff believes with his support, and that of his assistants, these elements contribute to an environment where enjoyment and satisfaction can be created and a highly successful and winning season can be experienced.

We are happy to announce that Josh, a recent graduate here at Tech and a 4 year starter, will be joining the coaching staff of 2010 as a graduate assistant. Josh brings a wealth of experience to the program. A captain and leader of the 2009 side that went to Nationals. Josh made the Conference First Team and leading goalkeeper in the conference.

Stu is finishing up on a second degree but will be part of this year's coaching staff. Stu was a 4 year member and starter and captain of the varsity team. He made the All Conference First Team and went on to making the All-Regional Team. Stu helped provide the positive leadership that got Tech to Nationals and the Final 16 in Fresno, California in 2009.

Coach Lopez is in his 9th year as the Warriors goalkeeping coach. His training methods have produced some of the best goalkeepers in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference. He always brings out the best in our goalkeepers.

This will be Coach Anderson's 3rd season with the program. Coach Anderson is a recent graduate who played in the program for four years and was a three year starter. He has a wealth of on the field knowledge and experience which will be an asset to us as part of the coaching staff. Coach Anderson will take care of the Reserve team under Coach Neuhoff.

Finally our newest member to the coaching staff, Jon, joins Josh Anderson in running our reserve. His playing ability along with his coaching experience will be an asset to the reserve program.

2009 Season's Results

Overall Record: 13-7-2, Went to Nationals

Congratulations to the Men's Soccer Team for thier accomplishments this season.

First time to qualify for Nationals and also have the best results since 1983, 26 years ago!

  • 2009 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Champions.
  • Upset #2 seeded University of Maine at Fort Kent, 1-0, in first round of National play-offs.
  • Qualified for final site in Fresno, California, the site of the final 16 teams in the nation. Defeated by national runner-up The Master's College, 1-0.
  • 7 players made the All-Conference teams.
  • 2 players, Stu Thornton and Mark Baptist, made All-Region team.
  • 8 players made All-Conference Academic team.
  • Varstiy team had an average GPA of 3.4, placing them 4th in the nation academically.
  • 4 players made the All-American Academic team, which has a minimum requirement of a 3.5 GPA.

Coach Neuhoff:

  • 2009 Indiana Tech Coach of the Year.
  • 2009 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Coach of the Year.
  • 2009 Regional Coach of the Year.
