Accounting A.S.

The purpose of the accounting associate degree program is to develop business people for entry level positions in management accounting, financial services, auditing, management services, governmental and nonprofit agencies, public accounting, and taxation. Accounting is a system for measuring and reporting the financial position and performance of a business organization, analyzing that position and communicating these results to management, ownership, and other information users. Accountants develop skills to solve problems and increase efficiency, improving both operating results and business value. Accounting has a very broad scope, which offers students the choice of many areas as specialties. Indiana Tech offers a high quality technical education to prepare students for a professional accounting position. Discussion, cases, problems, computer analysis, and current business practices provide students with the practical experience they need to participate in a fast-paced business environment. We help each student achieve the skills and judgment that will advance his or her career. At Indiana Tech, students will have the opportunity to work closely with their professors to achieve their goals.
