The Master of Science in Organizational Leadership (MSOL) gives you exposure to
leadership theory and current best practices. After you complete the program,
you will have working knowledge of visionary leadership skills to support
global service.
This twelve-month program stresses experiential learning and uses the team
model. Course work is a blend of online work, self study and classroom work,
including some spent on campus and via videoconference.
Program Overview
The MSOL begins with a focus on your own leadership style and identity through
self-assessment and the creation of a personal leadership action plan. Next,
you will learn about team building, financial concepts for leaders, managing
change and negotiation skills and influence. Finally, you will explore
organizational leadership, management information systems, global leadership
perspectives, performance management and finish by completing your own
leadership project.
Upon completing the Master of Science in Organizational Leadership, your
learning outcomes will be:

Evidence of a working knowledge of leadership theory and current leadership
best practices.

Creation, assessment and analysis of a personal leadership action plan and
identity.

Demonstration of ability to critically analyze research to determine
alternatives for problem solution and decision-making.

Demonstration of ability to integrate a working knowledge of innovative and
ethical models of leadership into practice.

Evidence of a working knowledge of visionary leadership skills to support
global leadership.
All course work is a blend of online work, self study and classroom work. The
program consists of three modules, with four courses in each module. You will
progress through the MSOL as a team with your classmates, beginning with an
orientation weekend and followed by four weekend sessions and two
videoconferences throughout the year.
Admissions Requirements

Minimum of three years work experience with an increasing level of supervisory
responsibilities.

A bachelor's degree (in any field) from an accredited institution, with a
cumulative grade point average of 2.50 or better.

Three letters of recommendation.

An essay that describes your personal leadership style and how it has shaped
your career. The essay should include your expectations for the MSOL. Please
note that the essay is one of the major components of the admission
requirements. Essays should be 500 to 750 words, double-spaced, in a 12-point
font.

Tuition
Tuition for the September 2008 MSOL program will be $410
per credit hour and will be locked-in as long as you stay with your team and
finish the program in a year.
