BA 4700 Training and Development

Course Description: Training and Development BA 4700 is a study of processes, methods, theories and current practices of training and staff development in business and organizational environments. The course focuses on practices that facilitate learning and change to achieve organizational objectives.

Textbooks: Training for Organizations; O'connor, Bridget, Michael Bronner, & Chester Delaney. South-Western.

Prerequisites: BA 2010

Specific Concepts to Address:

  • Objective of training practices for evaluating effectiveness
  • Pedagogy and andragogy
  • Process of needs assessment

Suggested Emphases:

  • Analysis and presentation of case studies of training situations
  • Design of training programs
