Another great way to connect with the talent at Indiana Tech is by holding on-campus interviews. Schedules can be open (any student who meets the criteria is allowed to interview), or employers can pre-select candidates after reviewing résumé. Either way, the Career Center staff can assist you and provide interview or conference rooms for your use.
Many organizations find it beneficial to give presentations to students or hold preliminary events prior to doing interviews on campus. The Career Center suggests you select your event date at least three weeks prior to your on-campus interview schedule. This will allow you to network with and get to know students before conducting actual interviews.
Through our job shadowing program, employers work with current Indiana Tech students to share valuable knowledge, experiences, and day-to-day tasks. Students get to experience “a day in life” in their chosen profession by visiting select companies.
Unpaid internships' position statement
The Career Center, as a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) has always encouraged for-profit and non-profit employers to follow the Fair Labor Standards Law. Employers hosting Indiana Tech students participating in unpaid internships must follow the Six Guidelines as noted in the Employer’s Guide to Internships. If you have questions about hosting an intern, please don’t hesitate to contact the Career Center.
