Important Graduation Information
Indiana Tech's 2010 Commencement is May 15, with former Notre Dame football coach Lou Holtz as guest speaker. The information below should help the celebration go as smoothly as possible for graduates and their guests. A Petition for Graduation must be received by February 1 to participate in the ceremony. Petitions filed after February 1 will not be accepted for participation in the commencement ceremonies. You may submit your petition online or download a printable version.
In order to participate in the ceremony graduates must meet one of the following requirements.
- Day students can have no more than 9 credits remaining or an internship
- CPS undergraduate students can have no more than 15 credits remaining after March 30
- CPS graduate students can have no more than 12 credits remaining after March 30

The commencement ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, located at 4000 Parnel Avenue in Fort Wayne. Graduates must arrive no later than 9:30 a.m. The ceremony lasts approximately 2 to 2 1/2 hours.

Cap and gowns will be available in May.
Graduates from the College of Professional Studies will receive their academic apparel via UPS using their home address on file during the week of May 3. Graduates from the traditional day program must pick up their academic apparel from the registrar's office (located in the temporary office trailer near the baseball field) the week of May 3. Staff will be available Saturday morning to assist you with your graduation attire and to line you up for the processional march. The graduation attire is yours to keep.
There is no official dress code; we trust that you will dress appropriately for participating in a formal ceremony.

There is no rehearsal for the ceremony. Information of what is expected of you during the ceremony will be given to you when you arrive for the ceremony.

There is a $4.00 per vehicle fee for parking.

Guests should plan to arrive between 9:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. There is no limit to the number of guests you may invite to the ceremony.

Diplomas will be sent via UPS to graduates who have completed all academic requirements and have fulfilled their financial obligation to the university 2 to 3 weeks after the graduation ceremony. Graduates who have outstanding academic requirements or financial obligations will receive their diploma via UPS 3 to 4 weeks after the requirements or obligations are satisfied.

A professional photographer will take a picture of you being presented your diploma and as your exit the stage. You will receive a free proof and the opportunity to purchase additional copies from the photographer. We will also have DVD's of the ceremony available for purchace through Tech Treasures a few weeks after commencement.

Graduation is a celebratory occasion - a moment to honor and recognize the achievements of each graduate. With respect to all, it is expected that guests will remain for the entire ceremony. Please turn off all cell phones/pagers during the ceremony.
