Biomedical Engineering B.S.
The term "biomedical engineering" covers a broad spectrum of
health-related studies. In a nutshell, however, biomedical engineering involves
taking the concepts of engineering and applying them to biological
systems. The end goal is to improve the health and quality of life of
these biological systems - i.e. people.
Biomechanical engineering (which is the focus of our program at Indiana
Tech) is one branch of the biomedical engineering field. Others include
bioelectrical, biomaterials, medical imaging, and rehabilitation engineering
just to name a few.
