Free College Prep Courses Offered Again

Fort Wayne, Ind.—Indiana Tech’s College of Professional Studies will again offer free college prep courses for adults in northwest Indiana interested in brushing up on their skills. In addition to prep courses in math and English, first offered in November, the university also will offer a course in computer basics.

The initial offering of free college prep courses was very well-received with about 25 people taking advantage of the opportunity.

Each course includes multiple two-hour class sessions at Indiana Tech’s satellite campus in Munster, 9245 Calumet Ave., Suite 201. The English and math courses meet four times, while the computer course meets twice. The courses are completely free, including books and materials.

The free writing course is adapted from ENG 1100 Introduction to College Writing. The free math course is adapted from MA 1000 Foundations of College Mathematics. The free computer course covers basics of computer use such as how to turn on a computer, how to access the Internet, and how to use e-mail.

The free college prep courses are open to anyone, based on space availability. Those who enroll do not have to be Indiana Tech students or even students applying to Indiana Tech.
