Indiana Tech’s HR Team has won its third consecutive North Central National Championship in the HR Games sponsored by the Society for Human Resource Management.
The team of Ashlie Sklenicka, Jessica Rambo, Zach Rambo and faculty advisor Dr. Jeff Walls defeated 38 teams from Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota in the competition April 23 and 24 at Purdue University.
The team qualified for the North Central competition by winning its fourth consecutive state championship. The HR Games consist of game show styled matches of undergraduate students from various colleges and universities. The questions for the matches are divided into categories similar to those used in the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification exam.
The Society for Human Resource Management has chosen Indiana Tech for its 2009-2010 Student Chapter Superior Merit Award. This award recognizes outstanding achievements in chapter operations and a commitment to providing meaningful programs and services to chapter members. The university will be recognized at the SHRM Annual Conference for receiving the award.
