Indiana Tech Partners with Questa on Student Aid
FORT WAYNE, Ind. – An agreement between Indiana Tech and Questa Foundation for Education will make a college education more affordable for qualifying students in Allen County.
Questa Foundation sponsors the Questa Scholars 1/2 Back Loan Program, which allows qualified Allen County high school students to borrow up to $20,000 for college over four years. Questa offers forgiveness of up to 50 percent of a Questa Scholar’s loan if the student graduates from college with a 2.75 GPA and chooses to reside and work in northeast Indiana for at least five years after graduation. Questa’s college loan forgiveness program is the only one of its kind in the nation.
The agreement between Indiana Tech and Questa goes even further to reduce student debt. Indiana Tech will repay Questa an additional 25 percent of a student’s loan balance for Questa Scholars who graduate from Indiana Tech within five years with a minimum 2.75 GPA. This means that a successful graduate would only owe 25 percent of the original loan amount.
“A college degree has become a necessity in today’s world, but financial difficulties can discourage many students who have great potential,” said Dr. Arthur Snyder, president of Indiana Tech. “Partnering with Questa is just one way Indiana Tech can help ease that financial burden and help our students stay on track toward graduation and successful careers.”
“The Questa-Indiana Tech partnership agreement will greatly assist Questa Scholars who seek a high quality, private education at a first-rate local institution. This partnership will allow Questa Scholars attending Indiana Tech to graduate with less debt and greater financial freedom after college,” commented Christina K. Smith, executive director of Questa Foundation.
