Warriors 4th in National Ranking
Indiana Tech’s Warriors currently hold fourth place in the NAIA Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup.
The Sports Directors’ Cup is a program that honors institutions maintaining a broad-based program, achieving success in many sports, both men's and women's. Begun in 1993-94 for Division I by NACDA and USA Today, it was expanded in 1995-96 to include Division II, III and the NAIA. Points are awarded based on each institution’s finish in up to 12 sports (6 women’s and 6 men’s).
As of Dec. 24, Indiana Tech has 195 points based on their successes in women’s volleyball, and men’s and women’s cross country.
“This is great news about how our athletic programs have grown and excelled over the past few years and how our coaches are working hard to improve the quality and quantity of our programs,” said Athletic Director Roger Newton.
Azusa Pacific (Calif.) is in first place with 324 points, Concordia (Ore.) is second with 238 points and Lindenwood (Mo.) is third with 204 points.
At the end of the spring athletic season, the institution with the most points receives a crystal trophy.
