McMillen Library

The mission of Library Services at Indiana Tech is to provide convenient access to those resources needed to support student learning, faculty instruction, and research along with promoting the virtues of intellectual inquiry, acquisition of knowledge, and excellence in scholarship for all members of the University's community.

The McMillen Library in Andorfer Commons houses a 32,000-volume collection. This new facility replaces the previous McMillen Library, which was originally dedicated in 1962. The library's collection was moved to its new facilities in June 2004. The former library has since been torn down, and a new building project occupies its old space on campus. The more modern McMillen Library is a state-of-the-art facility which includes a café with a fireplace for a nice cozy atmosphere, computer clusters enabling immediate electronic access to the online catalog, the Internet and to full text databases, a multimedia room and a small conference room for study groups or meetings.

The open floor plan allows easy access to multiple volumes of books and periodicals that make up the library's collection. The collection is specifically based on the current courses taught at Indiana Tech and with the help of donations the leisure reading section is continuing to grow.

The McMillen Library is open 7 days a week with reference service available at all times. Since it is impossible for any library to collect all needed information, the library operates an interlibrary loan service to enhance the research needs of the students and faculty. Other services available at the McMillen Library include a photocopier, computers, laser printers, color printer, scanner and a TV/VCR.

McMillen Library will have extended hours to accommodate the needs of the student body.
