Accounting, Bachelor of Science
The U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics projects employment of accountants and auditors to grow by 22 percent between 2008 and 2018 — faster than the average for other occupations.
Such growth is expected to be the result of an increase in the number of businesses, stricter financial laws and corporate governance regulations, and increased accountability for protecting an organization’s stakeholders.
The bachelor’s degree in accounting provides you with an in-depth knowledge of accounting, auditing, and taxes. A bachelor’s program prepares you to perform senior level accounting jobs that include financial accounting activities, cost accounting, auditing, and tax work. The program uses the TEAM approach for the accounting concentration courses. You will be prepared to continue the pursuit of a Master of Business Administration with an accounting concentration.
