Organizational Leadership, Master of Science (MSOL)

The Master of Science in Organizational Leadership (MSOL) gives you exposure to leadership theory and current best practices. After you complete the program, you will have working knowledge of visionary leadership skills to support global service.

Program overview

The MSOL helps you focus on your own leadership style and identity through self-assessment and the creation of a personal leadership action plan. Course work will help you explore team building, managing change, global leadership perspectives, and performance management. To culminate the program, you will complete your own leadership project.

Upon completing the Master of Science in Organizational Leadership, your learning outcomes will be:

  • Evidence of a working knowledge of leadership theory and current leadership best practices.
  • Creation, assessment and analysis of a personal leadership action plan and identity.
  • Demonstration of ability to critically analyze research to determine alternatives for problem solution and decision-making.
  • Demonstration of ability to integrate a working knowledge of innovative and ethical models of leadership into practice.
  • Evidence of a working knowledge of visionary leadership skills to support global leadership.

All of the MSOL courses will be offered online, although some classes may also be offered in a classroom environment.

Admission requirements

The admission requirements for the MSOL are as follows:

  • Minimum of three years work experience with an increasing level of supervisory responsibilities.
  • A bachelor's degree (in any field) from an accredited institution, with a cumulative grade point average of 2.50 or better.
  • Three letters of recommendation.
  • An essay that describes your personal leadership style and how it has shaped your career. The essay should include your expectations for the MSOL. Please note that the essay is one of the major components of the admission requirements. Essays should be 500 to 750 words, double-spaced, in a 12-point font.
  • A current résumé.
