Transition to Accounting
Applicants for the Indiana CPA exam must have at least a bachelor's degree and 150 total credits. The 150 credits must include 24 credits in accounting as well as 24 credits in business and economics. The Indiana Tech Transition to Accounting program provides the necessary accounting courses for those who do not have an accounting degree, as well as the additional credits beyond the bachelor's degree.
Program Prerequisites
Students who wish to enroll in the Transition to Accounting program as a step toward qualifying for the CPA Exam, must have completed:
- A bachelor's degree in business (or another bachelor's degree with the appropriate business and economics courses). Students must have their transcripts evaluated by an academic advisor to ensure that the coursework meets the CPA Exam requirements.
- ACC 1010: Principles of Accounting
- ACC 2140: Managerial Accounting
- MA 1025: Mathematical Problem-Solving
- MIS 1300: Software Tools

Degree Curriculum
CURRICULUM TOTAL CREDITS: 30
Students who complete the Transition to Accounting program are strongly encouraged to enroll in the Becker CPA Review to help them prepare for the CPA Exam.
