I joined the Indiana Tech admissions team in February 1998. Originally from the small town of St. Joe, Ind., I felt very at home on the small campus located within the city of Fort Wayne. Having worked as an admissions counselor for a majority of my time at Tech, I can truly say that getting to know the students and families through the admission process is one of the most rewarding parts of the job. It has been a pleasure to see the students that I work with as incoming freshmen walk through Commencement and go on to be successful professionals in their fields. The campus has grown and changed beautifully during my time at Tech, but the students, staff, and faculty truly make Indiana Tech a place that I'm proud to be associated with both as an employee and as an alumnus having completed my MBA here. Outside of Tech, I enjoy spending time gardening, baking (which my coworkers love!), and, occasionally, visiting the Tech fitness center. I am from a very small town in northern Indiana named Wolf Lake, but now I live in Fort Wayne. I have been working for Indiana Tech since 2001, while I was finishing up my bachelor's degree in French. I really love to work for Tech, as I am a firm believer in the need for education for everyone. I even continued my education to get a master's degree in English writing and linguistics! At Tech, I especially enjoy the relationships that I build with incoming students, their parents, and my coworkers.
Outside of work I have many interests; in my spare time I enjoy live music, especially rock and blues. I spend many autumn Sundays watching the Indianapolis Colts win. I also love to read, cook with my husband, run with my two dogs (Eli and Roy), and get together with my college friends to keep up on my French language skills!

Choosing a university to attend is a life-changing event. While there may be obstacles and hurdles to overcome in the admissions process, I am committed to making this process as smooth and enjoyable as possible here at Indiana Tech. I have been working with students at Tech since 2005, and I am excited to see so many students matriculate and graduate over those years. Born in Dearborn, Mich., but raised for the majority of my life in the Fort Wayne area, I enjoy the opportunities that Tech offers to its students and the diversity of activities for students to do in the city. In my spare time, I can be found browsing local bead shops for parts for my next piece of jewelry, playing fetch with my two dogs, reading, or enjoying different sporting events (go Red Wings!). I am originally from Hicksville, Ohio, which is right on the Indiana state line in northwest Ohio. I graduated from Indiana Tech in May of 2004 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. While at Tech, I was part of the men's basketball team and was very fortunate to be a part of two teams that competed in the NAIA National Tournement. I currently live in Fort Wayne; in my free-time I enjoy playing golf, baseball or softball, basketball, and working out. One non-athletic hobby that I really enjoy is photography. Tech is a great place to earn your degree; not only do you receive personal attention, but you also become part of a great family. I was very fortunate to pick a great university like Indiana Tech and to have had such a wonderful college experience. I joined the admissions team at the very end of August in 2006. It was a crazy time of year to start, but I soon realized that admissions, as well as Indiana Tech, had plenty to offer. I am originally from Fort Wayne; I was born and raised here. I did have the opportunity to go away for college and ended up just a short distance away. Yet I came right back home after I graduated with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and a minor in German from Ball State University. College taught me a lot of things; being the first in my family to graduate from college was a tremendous accomplishment that I will forever be proud of. My college education and experiences have made me who I am today, and even though the path that I have traveled was not my original plan, I am happy where it has brought me. Now, I have the opportunity to educate young adults about the benefits of a college education, and more specifically, how Indiana Tech fits into it. Indiana Tech is a great university that, continually strives to offer career-focused degrees and majors that are practical for the world we live in today. Indiana Tech is a small university that offers large benefits and opportunities for all students. Although I grew up in a rural area of Ohio, I enjoy the city of Fort
Wayne and what it has to offer. After finishing high school, I attended Northwest State and pursed an associate degree. Before finding my place at Indiana Tech, I lived in Monterrey, Mexico. During my almost three years in Mexico, I was also fortunate enough to have visited the countries of Thailand and Cuba. I'm now back at Tech, pursing a degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing.
Much has changed since I began as an Indiana Tech admissions counselor in January of 2007. During my time at Indiana Tech, I have seen the university evolve into a strong comprehensive university with deep commitments to higher education, ethics, community, and more. Yet one of the most enjoyable aspects of Tech is that it has a community feel even in a large city. Tech is about raising your expectations and achieving more than you ever imagined. I was born and raised in Marion, Ind., a small city about 45 minutes south of Fort Wayne. After high school, I furthered my education at Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind., where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications and minors in business and sociology. I recently relocated to Fort Wayne, and I am enjoying my position at Indiana Tech. I am very confident that my higher educational experience has changed my life for the better. I am a 2007 graduate of Taylor University majoring in marketing communication. I am originally from Elkhart, Ind., about an hour and a half north. In my family I was the first person to attend college. I remember how confused I was when I started to look at colleges and decide what I really wanted in an education. I'm excited to help students who may be the first from their families to experience the college search. Outside of work I enjoy playing sports, especially soccer. I love to read books now that I'm out of school and can choose the books. Other times I can be found spending time with family. Once again, I'm excited to help you on your college search. I graduated in May 2008, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public and Environmental Affairs and a minor in Interpersonal Communication from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne. I joined the Indiana Tech team in June 2008 as an Associate Admissions Counselor. This position is a perfect fit for me! I enjoy getting to know the students and families through the admission process and seeing these students make the choice to obtain a degree. I am a firm believer that higher education sets a strong foundation for the future in the job market. I believe that Indiana Tech's "career-focused degree programs" are accessible and obtainable to every age and background.
