Indiana Tech is a student-centered environment, dedicated to preparing students for professional and personal success in the real world. Founded in 1930, Indiana Tech is a private, four-year, comprehensive university.

Mission

Indiana Tech provides learners of all ages with a career-focused professional education in the areas of business, computer studies, engineering, and other professional concentrations; prepares them for active participation in the complex, global society of the 21st century; and motivates them toward a life of significance and worth.

Location

We are located in Fort Wayne, Indiana, which is 125 miles northeast of Indianapolis and 160 miles southeast of Chicago.

Student Profile

Our current student profile is made up of approximately 869 students (65% male, 35% female):

  • 62% — Caucasion
  • 22% — African-American
  • 1.0% — American Indian/Alaskan Native
  • 1.0% — Asian/Pacific Islander
  • 1.7% — Hispanic
  • 2.3% — International
  • 10% — Other

Faculty Profile

Indiana Tech currently has 36 full-time undergraduate professors with a 19:1 student-teacher ratio. Our average class size is approximately 19 students.

Athletics

We belong to the NAIA, Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference, 17 varsity sports (8 men's: baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer, tennis, and track; 9 women's: basketball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, tennis, track, and volleyball) and a wide variety of intramural sports. Indiana Tech also has 3 spirit teams (also offering scholarships): cheer, band, and dance.

Accreditation

Indiana Tech is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, while the mechanical and electrical engineering programs are accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). The university is approved and officially recognized by the U.S. Office of Education and the U.S. State Department and is approved by the State Approval Agency for the enrollment of veterans and eligible persons.

Additionally, the university is a member of the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL) and adheres to its policies and practices.
