How do Independent Study courses work?
Read answer
After enrolling in a course, your book will be shipped to you along with information on how to log on to Blackboard and contact information for your instructor. Once on Blackboard, you will have access to all of your coursework including syllabus, objectives, instructor contact information, all exams, and assignments. Each course is broken down into modules.
Upon completion of each module there is generally a take home exam, paper, or project to complete. You will submit this electronically to your instructor through the digital drop-box. Your instructor will grade the work within two weeks and return feedback to you via your digital drop-box. After all work is completed for the course, the instructor will submit a final grade for you which will be entered into your official record. An official grade report will be printed and mailed to you.

How will I take exams for an Independent Study course?
Read answer
All exams are take-home exams and are included on Blackboard with your course materials. They are not timed exams, and may be completed at your own pace.
Since the exams measure your comprehension and application of the material, there is a significant amount of writing involved. You may consult your notes, textbook, or other resources, however you may not work with another individual on completing the exams. You will submit to the instructor electronically through the digital drop-box once completed. The instructor will grade and provide feedback within two weeks via your digital drop-box.
