Warrior Orientation 2012

Orientation is a mandatory event for all incoming freshmen.

August 19-22, 2012

The transition to college does not have to be a difficult one. Warrior Orientation is designed to help acclimate incoming students to the Indiana Tech way of life. Our goal is to make your transition of becoming a Warrior as smooth and seamless as possible.

We are looking forward to having you on campus!

Any student living on campus will need to check-in at the Andorfer Commons’ concessions stand to sign housing paperwork, receive their room key, and to find out their orientation group assignment.

Commuter students will check in at 4:00 p.m.

10 a.m.-
1 p.m.

Move-In Oasis

Andorfer Commons

Banks and other local organizations will be available to answer questions regarding their services.

Parent Lounge

Parents - need to take a break from your chaos of the day? Come take a breather and relax in the Move-In Oasis!

Andorfer Commons Cafeteria

Lunch will be provided to all students and their families. Take a break from moving and fill up your stomachs.

Any commuter student will need to come check-in at Andorfer Commons. Commuter students will want to receive their orientation group assignment prior to the welcome at 5 p.m.

Students will be addressed by the president of the University and divided into their orientation groups. (Please note you will be with your group throughout the next two days, so it is very important that you are in attendance!)

Meet Your Orientation Leader

Students will be meeting their orientation leaders. The leaders will discuss the schedule for the next two days and give specifics on time and location for events.

Join us in Scully Square for this once in a lifetime opportunity to sample the best cuisine that Fort Wayne has to offer! Local restaurants will be on our campus to give you a little taste of their fine fare.

English Write-Out Exam

Any student who tested into ENG 1100 will have the opportunity to write into ENG 1250. The write-out opportunity will be held in the Cunningham Business Center, Room 360.

Trolley Tours of Fort Wayne

Pierson

A once in a lifetime opportunity to take a partial tour of Fort Wayne in s sweet vintage trolley! Who doesn’t love a trolley?! (Many of the locations for the Taste of Fort Wayne vendors will be pointed out during the tour)

TinCaps Game

Parkview Field

The first 100 students will receive FREE tickets to see our local minor league baseball team, the Fort Wayne TinCaps, take on the Dayton Dragons! (Trolley transportation will be provided to the stadium beginning at 6:30 p.m. outside of Pierson)

Late Night Movie

Don’t miss this surprise big hit movie that will be playing right here in our Indiana Tech theater! Not only do you get a blockbuster hit, but we will also be serving the most delicious gourmet popcorn that your taste buds have ever came in contact with! Trust me, you do not want to miss out on this event.

This is a mandatory meeting for all students living on campus. Each Resident Assistant will hold a meeting to go over rules and regulations regarding dorm life.
