Living on campus can be a fun part of your college experience as well as
a great convenience. It’s also one of the biggest adjustments you’ll
make as you transition from high school to college and can inspire a lot
of questions. You’ll find many of the answers here.

Housing with you in mind
Freshmen are typically assigned to the Pierson Center. If space permits
or if selected as part of the career living, learning community,
freshmen may request to be placed in Evans-Kimmell Hall or Frank and
Anne Oropeza Hall. Upperclassmen have more options and may choose from
those hall already mentioned as well as Yergens-Roger's Hall.

Want to save time on shopping, Indiana Tech has partnered with

university housing needs. To keep the cost to our students as low as
possible, the university has chosen to waive any commission we would

How many residence halls does Indiana Tech have?

Indiana Tech currently has eight residence halls on campus: Pierson
Center, Yergens-Rogers Hall, Evans-Kimmell Hall, Frank & Anne Oropeza
Hall, Kalbfleisch Hall, and Warrior Row Townhouses (A & B), and Warrior
Row - Traditional Style.
Do I have to live on campus?

To help you make the most of your college experience, all freshmen and
sophomores are required to live on campus. Exceptions may be made if you:
- Are 21 or older prior to the start of your first semester.
- Live with a responsible relative within 50 miles of the university.
- Are married and live with your spouse within 50 miles of the university.
- Are a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces.
- Have special circumstances requiring additional consideration.
Students enrolling through a recruitment agency are required to live on
campus their first two semesters regardless of the exceptions above.

Housing Release/Exemption request form.

Applying for student housing can be completed in just a few steps. To

What does it cost to live on campus?

Since each of our residence halls is slightly different, the room and
board rates vary. For the current housing costs, visit our
tuition and fees page.
To guarantee housing, you must pay a $350 housing deposit by May 1. If
your deposit is paid after May 1, you will be assigned a room based on
availability.

How are roommates assigned?

If a specific roommate is not requested, the residence life office
assigns a roommate using personal background information furnished on
the housing application. Initial requests for specific roommates are
honored if the deposits and applications are made prior to May 1, and
both applicants make written requests for each other as roommates.
Room assignments are made in late May, and information on the
assignments will be sent out in June. Assignments to campus housing are
made based on the date of application and availability of space. The
university reserves the right to make changes in the room assignments
when it is in the best interests of the residents and/or the university.
All residence hall facilities, including personal rooms, are non-smoking.
Can I have a car on campus?

Yes, you are allowed to have a car on campus. However, you must register
your vehicle and display your permit. You can
register your vehicle online,
and the permit fee will be added to your account.
Students who live in campus housing must park in specifically designated
lots for dorm residents. Commuting students also must register their
vehicles and can park in lots not designated for dorm residents.
How to I receive mail/packages when living on campus?
