Dave Aschliman
I serve as the Dean for the College of Engineering and Computer Sciences. I welcome the challenges of this position. A brief biography for me appears below. Please e-mail me if you have any questions.
I received a BSME and an MSME from Purdue University in 1976 and 1987, respectively. I started my career at Magnavox as an Environmental Test Engineer and a Mechanical Analyst. At Magnavox, Hughes Aircraft and Raytheon, I held several key positions of increasing management responsibility. Dave served as the Manager of Environmental Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Specialty Design & Test and Product Assurance. I helped develop ISO-9001 work procedures and was instrumental in assuring that Fort Wayne Raytheon achieved certification to the Y2000 version of ISO-9001. I also worked as a part-time professor at Indiana Tech for seven years.
In Fall 2002 I joined Indiana Tech as the Chair for the Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering. In Fall 2004, with the addition of the Biomedical Engineering program, I became the Chair for Mechanical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering. In Fall 2005, with the academic restructuring at Indiana Tech, I became the Dean for the College of Engineering and Computer Sciences.
Most recently, in fall 2008, the Energy Engineering Program was launched at Indiana Tech.
